Riding
Instruction
Highgrove Farm offers English and
Western riding instruction to riders of all ages and
experience levels by a CHA Certified Instructors. The first lesson
includes a riding evaluation by which the instructor evaluates your current riding level and
discusses your riding goals. Whether you are new to horses or have been riding
for years our instruction programs are tailored for your specific needs and
goals.
Instructional
emphasis is on Horsemanship and Safety.
CHA Riding Levels:
 | LEVEL ONE: foundational instruction
to beginners, with a strong emphasis on safety. Students learn basic
horse ground handling, mounting, correct position and control at the
walk and the trot.
 | LEVEL TWO: students progress to learn
the canter/lope, including diagonals, a balanced seat, pre-jumping
exercises, western patterns, trail riding, etc.
 | LEVEL THREE: students work on
improving form, style and understanding of the natural aids, including
basic jumping, school figures and leads with a greater emphasis on
horsemanship theory.
 | LEVEL FOUR: students at this
level improve the performance of both horse and rider, including
jumping courses, dressage movements, reining, and other performance
events, advanced horse management and horsemanship theory. |
